Shawn Thompson
Writer | Director | Editor

Shawn Thompson is a writer, filmmaker, and storyteller working across film, television, and documentary. His work blends cinematic storytelling with emotionally grounded characters, often exploring themes of time, memory, identity, and the fragile choices that shape our lives.

Shawn is the creator of multiple original projects spanning genres—from neo-noir road stories and dark comedies to epic time-travel thrillers. His writing style is influenced by the atmospheric narrative approach of Stephen King, the rhythmic dialogue of Quentin Tarantino, and the tonal balance of the Coen Brothers—combining lyrical realism with genre tension.
His current slate includes Silvercup, a time-travel thriller developed as both a novel and a series; Firefly, a lovers-on-the-run road story written as both a novel and a feature script; The Legend of Two Eyes Calder, a comedy western screenplay starring Patrick Warburton; and Unwrapped, a Christmas tale.

In addition to narrative film work, Shawn produces and develops documentary projects that focus on cultural stories, social change, and global perspectives—including work involving Indigenous communities in Colombia and international travel documentary series.

Shawn approaches storytelling with a deep focus on character, emotional truth, and cinematic momentum—crafting stories that are both intimate and epic in scope.
